FAQ
With full truckload, one shipment has the whole trailer. The truck goes directly from pickup to delivery without stopping at terminals or transferring freight, which makes it faster and more secure than shared (LTL) shipping.
Choose FTL when your freight fills most of a trailer, is heavy, or is high-value or time-critical. Past a certain size, a dedicated truck costs less than paying LTL rates on many pallets. Partial truckload is an option in between.
A standard 53-foot dry van typically holds 26 standard pallets (48 × 40 in) loaded single-stacked, and more if your freight can be double-stacked.
Usually around 42,000–45,000 lbs of freight in a 53-foot dry van, depending on the truck and trailer, within the 80,000 lb federal gross weight limit.
