Sarah has spent fifteen years in logistics and still lights up talking about a perfectly executed delivery. As Supply Chain Lead, she is the person our biggest shippers call when things need to go right. We sat down with her to talk about the work, the industry and what keeps her coming back.
What drew you to logistics?
“I love that it is a giant puzzle that never stops moving. Every shipment is a small promise to a customer, and I get a real kick out of keeping every one of them. The industry rewards people who sweat the details, and I am very much a details person.”
What does a typical day look like?
“Honestly, there is no typical day—that is the fun of it. I might start by reviewing a customer’s peak-season plan, jump into solving a capacity crunch on a tricky lane, and finish by walking a new shipper through their first few loads. The thread through all of it is keeping freight moving and keeping people informed.”
What makes Humble different?
“We actually pick up the phone. Technology is a huge part of what we do—and I would not want to work without it—but customers stay because there is a real person who knows their business and has their back. That combination of great tools and real relationships is rare, and it is why I am still here.”
Any advice for new shippers?
“Ask questions early and be accurate with your details. A two-minute conversation up front saves a two-week headache later. And find a partner you trust—logistics gets a lot easier when you are not doing it alone.”
